Osage: Mrs. Ross Gilchrist, 62, died Friday at Mercy hospital, Mason City, where she had been a patient for the last week suffering from a stroke complicated by a diabetic condition.
Funeral 9 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart church in Osage; burial in Sacred Heart cemetery.Born Barbara Schlaff, daughter of Peter and Gertrude Weber Schlaff, near Johnsburg, Minn. in 1888. She spent girlhood there; married in 1914 and couple lived on farm near Osage, moving to Osage in 1929.
She leaves husband; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Hennings, Davenport, Mrs. Doyle Owen, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. H A Halverson, Plainview, Minn.; Mrs. Eugene Krebsbach, Stacyville; son, Cpl Richard Gilchrist, San Antonio, Tex; nine grandchildren, seven sisters, Mrs. Roy Hungerford, Osage; Mrs. Elizbeth Winkels, Meyer; Miss Kate Schlaff, Stacyville; Mrs. James DeMuth, Milford; Mrs. Ernest Estlick, Scranton, N.D.; Mrs. Sy Grove, Chicago and Sister Mary Meinrod, Eau Claire, Wis.
Preceding her in death was a son, Donald, a sister and two brothers.Waterloo Daily Courier, Sunday January 21, 1951
