Donald Edward Fossey, 80
Donald E. Fossey, 80, of Modesto, Calif. died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Mitchell County, Iowa and was raised on a farm. In 1942, he entered the Navy. He served in World War II and received two purple hearts.
In 1946, he married Rosemary Denneson of Austin. They were married 49 years.
He worked for Walman Optical Co. in Austin, Grand Forks, N.D. and Watertown, S.D. where he was manager for 35 years. After retiring they moved to Modesto, Calif. in 1984. Rosemary died in 1994.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Wayne Geiger, Honolulu, Hawaii; Connie and Keith Bacon, Bend, Ore.; four grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Perau, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Service: 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Shelter Cove Community Church.
Funeral Home: Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, Modesto, California.
Memorials: To American Diabetes Association.
