The Glenwood Opinion newspaper, August 7, 1902. "The five generation picture of the family of Rufus Merritt published in the Opinion a few weeks ago called attention to the fact that A. Baker and wife of Glenwood are now great-grandparents. The geneology runs as follows: A. Baker, aged 82, Mrs. A. Baker, aged 87, Glenwood. Jas. K. Baker, 58, Glenwood; Mrs. Teressa Baker Lowe, age 37, Ottumwa; Mrs. Dora Lowe Blacksley, 17, Ottumwa; and her son Earnest Blacksley, aged 6 months. A remarkable thing about this family too is that the husband and wife all the way down are living. In Glenwood are four generations of the Baker family living: A. Baker and wife; Jas. K. Baker and wife; Korah Baker age 31 and wife; and son Ward Baker, aged 8. The Ottumwa branch should come to Glenwood and have their pictures taken in a group."
