Beatrice (Marsallis) Radley, 89, Springfield, Mo., died April 17, 2008, at St. John’s.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown, with Bradley William Clark officiating. She was born June 30, 1918, in Oakton, Ky., one of nine children born to Cecil Marsallis and Annie Bruce Williams. She attended high school in Dumas, Ark., and attended Marshalltown (Iowa) Business College. Beatrice married L. Ray Radley on Nov. 2, 1941, in Marshalltown. They returned to Marshalltown in 1956 from Kansas City and operated Ford Flower Shop for many years until retiring back to Springfield in 1985. She was a member of Theta Chi Honorary Sorority, Elk’s Lodge Auxiliary #409 and Second Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann (Richard O.) Clark of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Billie (James E.) Taylor of Chesterfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mark Ray Clark and Carrie Lasack, both of Cedar Rapids, and Bradley William (Susan) Clark of West Des Moines; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, L. Ray Radley and a sister, Pearl Keel.
