Former City Man Dies At Age 68

Word was received here of the recent death of a former Marshalltown resident, Lester H. Hilleman, 68, Iowa City. He died Nov 29 at Iowa City Care Center after a 3 1/2 month illness. He was cremated.
Mr. Hilleman was born April 17, 1915, in Laurel. He attended Ottumwa and Marshalltown High Schools and married Betty Killough. She died in January 1968. He married Iva Maas, Oct. 11, 1969, in Iowa City.
For more than 45 years, he was associated with the Harper and McIntire Co., in Cedar Rapids. He retired July 1, 1980. He was a member of the Old Capitol Kiwanis Club, Elks Club, and served on the Elderly Services Agency Board in Iowa City.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Michael of Sioux Center and Kurt of Salt Lake City, Utah; a stepson William Maas, San Francisco, Calif.; and two step daughters, Beth Grimms, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Barbara Burrows, Santa Fe, N.M.; four sisters, Adelia Goodrich, Covina, Calif., Viola Carter, Phoenis, Ariz.;Amanda Gosling, Dos Palos, Calif.; and Lucille Dalin, Lake San Marcos, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice, Inc. or the Elderly Services Agency of Iowa City.
