Dr. Sweet to Resign
Assistant Surgeon of the Soldier’s
Home Will Locate in Clarion
Dr. R. B. Sweet, assistant surgeon of the Iowa’s Soldier’s Home, will hand in his resignation to Commandant C. C. ---ton*, in a few days to become effective February 1. Dr. Sweet will go to Clarion, where he will engage in practice with J. H Sams, a member of the State Board of Health, and now of the best known physicians of Wright County.
Dr. Sweet has been assistant surgeon of the home for the past eighteen months, and has very acceptably filled the position. His home is in Hampton, where his people are prominent. The members of the Home, who have come to know him through his official connection with the institution, will be sorry to learn that he is to leave, as he has been very popular.
Dr. Sweet will be succeeded by T. C. Haecker, of Hampton, a young physician who graduated from Bush Medical College, class of ‘02. Dr. Haecker served four months internship in St. Mary’s Hospital, Chicago, following his graduation, and is soon to graduate from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he has been for the past year. Dr. Haecker is a nephew of Dr. Haecker, of Hampton, also of Postmaster T. H. Haecker, of the same place. He comes very highly recommended.
