Alberta was born on July 26, 1922 in Foster, Iowa to Sam and Mary (Thomas) Crowe.

She graduated from Melcher High School, class of 1940.

She married Chester Jones on June 21, 1941 and they were blessed with four children: Ron, Don, Nancy, and Craig.

Family and music were intertwined in Alberta's life. She was a talented musician and passed on her love for music to her children by sharing her gift daily while raising her family. Alberta taught her children they were capable of anything and always encouraged them in their endeavors. She had a true love for people and was always interested in what was happening in their lives. She also always had time to visit. Alberta was always active in her church and community sharing her time and talents where ever they were helpful.

Alberta passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Knoxville Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Arthur Crowe, Florine Moore, and Celia Crowe.

She is survived by her children: Ron (Pam) Jones of Inverness, FL, Don (Janice) of Mt. Pleasant, Nancy (Dennis) Galeazzi of Des Moines, and Craig (Penny) Jones of Melcher; grandchildren: Kimberly Jones, Holly Jones, Chris Galeazzi, Marc Galeazzi, Keith Jones, and Bradley Jones; five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Leonard "Sam" (Mary Ann) Crowe of Melcher-Dallas.
