Darlene Anna Rankin, age 76 of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center the morning of March 16th, 2009.

Darlene was born on December 17th, 1932 in Colman, South Dakota. She was married to Keith Rankin of Knoxville, Iowa on November 13, 1953. They resided in Knoxville since 1954 where she worked as a registered nurse at the Veteran's hospital until her retirement in 1993.

Darlene is survived by her four children; Debra Gaffney (Mike), Diana Harvey, Dena Kirkwood (Andy) and Dan Rankin (Tammy), nine grandchildren and one brother, Ron.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, her parents, Elmer and Inez Fulmer Harvey, one brother, Delmer, and one sister, Velma.

Funeral services will be held at the Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville on Friday, March 20th at 10:00 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th at the Winfield-Evans-McCleery Funeral Homer in Knoxville after noon. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
