Funeral services for Alice Lorraine Avery of Knoxville will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Williams Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Edythe Hill officiating. Interment will be in Coal Port Cemetery, rural Marion County, Iowa.

Mrs. Avery passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 4 days.

Mrs. Avery is survived by three children, Judith Avery of Knoxville; John (Susan) Avery and Nancy Hobbs both of Des Moines; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Annie Hill and Pearl Minard of Knoxville and Norma Bride of Ottumwa.

Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home after noon on Tuesday. The family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
