Ralph Willis Ward

FREMONT - Ralph Willis Ward, 74, Fremont, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in Mahska County Hospital, Oskaloosa.

He was born May 3, 1907, in Burlington to Zed and Minnie Walker Ward. He married Hazel Nason Aug. 5, 1960, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward operated Hazel's, a restaurant at Sigourney, and moved to Fremont eight years ago, where they operated the Cozy Corner Cafe. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Eagles Lodge.

Surviving: his wife; son Ralph W., Jr., Marshalltown; daughter Margie Miller, Burlington; stepson Paul Nason, Harper; two stepdaughters, Barbara Gillialand, Davenport, and Linda DeGroot, Lee's Summit, Mo.; eight grandchldren; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Fremont Chapel, the Rev. Robert D. Foster; Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery.
