TREE FELL UPON HER
~
Distressing and Perhaps Fatal Accident
Befalls Mrs. Mary Vos at
the Home Near New Sharon
~
New Sharon, July 7 – A distressing accident happened at the Vos homestead, about seven miles west of New Sharon, last Sunday evening. Mrs. Mary Vos, mother of Gys and Gilbert Vos, was returning home from church and was just entering the gate when she was struck by a large tree, which was blown down by the storm when raging. She was completely pinioned in such a manner that it required twelve men to lift the tree and extricate her. Physicians were called, and it was found that a shoulder and three ribs were broken. at this time she is resting easily, but is not out of danger.
