Truro - MRS. DORA DICK

Mrs. Dora Dick died Friday. Funeral services were held Sunday at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. A. P. Hurst of the Christian church. Members of the two church choirs sang.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Delbert Dick and son Leo; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scott; four sisters and two brothers, besides other relatives and many friends.

She was laid to rest in the Hartman cemetery.

Dora Ethel Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scott, was born in Madison county, Iowa, June 9, 1895, and departed this life at her home in Clarke county, Iowa, January 24, 1919, at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage to Delbert L. Dick September 3, 1913. To this union two children were born, Leo LaVerne, four and Laura Lorraine, who preceded her mother to the great beyond April 6, 1917, at the age of one year, two months and twenty-five days.

Besides the husband and little son, Leo, she leaves to mourn their loss a father, mother, four sisters, two brothers, a host of near relatives and a large circle of friends.

At the age of sixteen she united with the Methodist Protestant church at Union, to which she remained faithful through her many weeks of suffering, until she was called to be with loved ones gone before.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. P. Hurst.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Delbert Dick, a most highly respected lady of Madison township, was held at Truro Sunday at 11 o’clock followed by interment in the Truro cemetery, Mrs. Dick having passed away last Friday at her home several miles northeast of Murray, following a lingering illness.

The deceased and her family had a host of warm friends who now turn in sympathy to the bereft husband and motherless son, and other relatives in their great sorrow.

Dora Ethel Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scott, was born in Madison county, Iowa, June 9, 1895, and departed this life at her home in Clarke county, Iowa, January 24, 1919, at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 15 days.
