Fred Carrington, 85, of Branford died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 in The Haven Hospice Suwnnee Valley Care Center, Lake City.
The Earlham, Iowa native moved to Branford 18 years ago from LaBelle. Mr. Carrington was born on Dec. 11, 1922.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army/Air Corp. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church, Branford.
Mr. Carrington is survived by his wife, Velma E. Carrington; three daughters, Joyce Carrington, Newberry, Deborah Rand, Hollywood, and Melodie Parrino, Branford; one son, Michael Carrington, Ft. Myers; one step daughter, Caroline Hill, Branford; three step sons, Greg Sutton, LaBelle, Robert Tyler and Nath Veal of Branford; two sisters, Clarice Ohs, CA., and Norma Lary, Des Moines, IA.; three brothers, Warren Carrington, AZ., Curtis Carrington and Keith Carrington both of Des Moines, IA.; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Akin Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle. Interment followed in the Ft. Denaud Cemetary, LaBelle. All arrangements were under the direction of the Daniels Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Branford, Fl.
