Jeri Lee, 94, of Winterset, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at her home.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
Geraldine Marie was born in East Peru, Iowa on December 30, 1929, to Carroll and Maude (Lamb) Howell. She graduated from Truro High School and later married Charles Lee on December 24, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Jeri had various jobs in her working career. She also helped Charles with farming and livestock as needed. Later she worked as a Real Estate Agent, retiring after a 25 year career. She often found time to enjoy clubs and volunteering. She was an active, longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset. She was also an active member of the Buffalo Gals and would volunteer time at the Madison County Historical Complex and the Madison County Hospital.
She enjoyed vacationing with Charles; traveling abroad, and wintering in Texas. She loved family time; playing cards, beating the grandkids at a game of “horse”, and hosting family dinners. She took immense joy in holding every new grandchild, cherishing her growing family with pride and love.
Jeri is survived by her 3 children, Beccy (Steve) Hartman, Randy (Barb) Lee, and Teri (John) Gambrall all of Winterset; brother, Morris Howell; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Harper, Sarah (Darren) McDonald, Kerri (Chad) Halverson, Chris (Mandy) Lee, Erin (Jim) McCarter, Levi (Amanda) Lee, Jasmine (Nick) Greb, Nick (Connie) Gambrall, Ethan (Ariel) Gambrall, Maddy (Curtis) Benson, Stacie (Chad) Carter, Matt Witt, Drew Witt, Travis (Jennifer) Witt, and Brad (Diane) Witt; 46 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Maude (Lamb) Howell; her husband Charles in 2014; brothers, Delbert Howell and Doyle Howell; sisters, Ethel Lamb and Margaret Stanford; and many sisters/brothers-in-law, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and a great-grandson.
