Mrs. Chas. Mapes, a former Earlham woman, now residing at De Soto, passed away at about six o'clock this evening as the result of an undiagnosed complaint, supposed to be intestinal cancer. She came home from the ILHLCL at Clarinda about three weeks ago in very poor health, and has failed rapidly since that time.
