Mrs. Frances A. Steele died last Saturday, June 5 as a result of an operation at the hospital in Palo Alto, California. Mrs. Steele lived for many years in Winterset, coming here with her father, Rev. C. T. McCaughan in the year 1865. She was a woman of very high character and the news of her death will be a matter of deep regret to many of her old time friends in Winterset. We have no further particulars of her death.
