Rosalee “Tootie” Kae Hauschildt, 79, passed away peacefully in Knoxville, Iowa on December 22, 2023. Her son, Brad, her two favorite nurses, daughter, Missy, and granddaughter, Laura, were by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Earlham, Iowa. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Earlham Community Center. Tootie will be interred in Greenfield, Iowa at a later date.

Tootie was born on May 29, 1944, to Clarence and Helen (Shinn) Newbury. She was raised in Greenfield, Iowa and graduated from Greenfield High School. Tootie married Everett Hauschildt, and four children were born to this union. Throughout her lifetime, she worked various jobs; these included Central States Railroad, Madison County Hospital, and Mercy Johnston Hospice House. She also spent 14 years working with Earlham Rescue Unit, of which she was very proud.

"Tootie" is survived by her children: Brad (Cindy) Hauschildt, Eric (Michelle Thompson) Hauschildt, and Missy Hauschildt; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Ramona); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen; son, Clint; and grandson, Andrew Bauer.

Memorials in Tootie’s name may be directed to the family. Tootie’s family would like to thank Dr. Joshua Luckenbill, Oncologist with Mission Cancer and Blood; Dr. Archana Verma, Hepatologist with Iowa Digestive Disease; her amazing PA, Eve Harris with Earlham Medical Clinic; the staff at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics; Westridge Specialty Care of Knoxville; and Care Initiatives Hospice under the guidance of her granddaughter, Laura Kendall. Their care, love, support, and knowledge will be forever appreciated.
