News of Woodward

John Silverthorn passed away at his home here Sunday night at 10:30, his death was due to pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Silverthorn moved to Woodward 10 years ago and in that time have made many friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Silverthorn in her bereavement.

A short funeral service was held at the Cooper Kelly Undertaking parlors Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock. The remains were taken to Winterset for burial.

Word was received in Hartley last Saturday of the death of John Silverthorn, of Woodward, a former Hartley resident. A sister, Miss Mollie Silverthorn, left Tuesday to attend the funeral. Interment will be made at Winterset.

Death of John Silverthorne

John Silverthorne, a former resident of Madison county, died at his home in Woodward, Sunday night, February 16th, at the age of 63 years. Mrs. Silverthorne, was formerly Miss Jessie Jamison, of this county. Funeral services were held at Woodward, Wednesday afternoon, at one o’clock, and the body was brought to Winterset, for burial in the Rock City Cemetery.

Ross and Paul Jamison drove to Woodward to attend the services. Mrs. Marie Boyd, a sister of Mrs. Silverthorne, had been there since the first of the week.
