Dale Kuhns, Winterset

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Collins Funeral Home for Orvil Dale Kuhns of Winterset, who died Aug. 21 at Mercy Hospital In Des Moines. He was 69 years old.

Born Jan 12, 1913 in Orient, he was the son of Archie and Elsie Brown Kuhns.

On Feb. 20, 1938 he married Mary Virginia Wilson in Zion, who survives him.

A lifetime resident of this area, he was a farmer and also worked in construction before retiring in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Richard of Lorimor, David of Winterset and Terry of Des Moines; three daughters, Kathryn Harrell, Barbara Brock and Dixie Weldon, all of Des Moines; a brother, Lloyd Kuhn of Kansas; a sister, Betty Railsback of Griswold; and nine grandchildren.

Rev. David Livingston officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery, Afton.
