Ernie Brobst of Winterset shot and killed his wife, wounded Peter Clear, his wife’s brother-in-law, and then killed himself. Jealousy is supposed to have prompted the tragedy. Clear, though shot in the face and side, is expected to recover. He is 65 years old. Brobst and his wife had been separated for some months and she had sued for divorce. Mrs. Brobst lived two houses from Clear, whose housekeeping she had been doing.
