Burris Westlake was born in Giles county, West Virginia, February 14, 1817, and died at his home near Fredonia, July 20, 1899, aged 82 years, 5 months and 16 days. Mr. Westlake was an old settler, respected and loved by all who knew him. The funeral service was conducted from the Indian creek school house, Sunday afternoon by Rev. W. S. Kight.
