A. A. Waterhouse, one of the pioneers of the state, died at his home in the Forks of the river about 7 o'clock last evening. He had been sick for two or three years, but had only been dangerously sick since Sunday. The immediate cause of his death was heart trouble. He was born in New York in 1838 and came to Iowa, settling in Scott county, 62 years ago. He has lived in Oakland township for 16 years, and has been an honest, industrious man. The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Kight. The interment will be at the Carpenter cemetery. His wife died 35 years ago, and he leaves the one son. H. D., who lives on the home place.
