Morning Sun, March 1 - Wm. Bell, one of our most highly respected citizens, died at his home in this city, February 25, at 7 a. m., aged 80 years, death ensuing from an attack of the grip. He was born in Morning Sun, Ohio, September 27, 1818, and came to Iowa in 1837, settling near Virginia Grove, moved to Morning Sun 33 years ago, where he has since resided, holding many positions of trust.

A widow and seven children survive him: Gertrude of Chicago, Mrs. Verona Zollars, Portland, Ore, Mrs. Maggie Gilett, Corning, Iowa, Mrs. Dora Dittmer, Manchester, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Erwin, Columbus City, Iowa, Ada, who is at home and Walter W., principal of schools at Clarinda, Iowa. Funeral services were held in the R. P. church, conducted by Dr. C. D. Trumbull, Rev. J. K. Alexander and Rev. D. T. Campbell.
