Mrs. Marietta Maria Edmondson, daughter of the late Senator F. A. Duncan, and wife of R. F. Edmondson, died at her home southeast of Columbus City on Wednesday night, Nov. 9, at about 7 o'clock. The disease which afflicted her was typhoid fever. This she contracted during the seven weeks she was waiting on and caring for her husband's sister, Mrs. Eliza Johnston, at Columbus city.

She had been at home about two weeks. During her sickness she seemed to suffer very little, and never once did a complaint escape her lips. Although she was very sick, yet up to the day before she died every symptom seemed to indicate that she would get well again.

Mrs. Edmondson was born on her father;s farm west of Columbus City, May 24, 1857, making her over 41 years old when she died. She was married to Mr. Edmondson on the 9th day of September, 1880. Four children were born to them, who are still living. These are Matie, 16 years old, in school here; Nellie, 13 years old; William, 11 years old; and Dale, 5 years old. It seems sad that these children must live on without the mother's care and love.

Besides her own family she six brothers and one sister. the earthly remain were laid away in the Columbus City cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The memorial services were held at 3 o'clock that after noon at he U. P. church in the City.
