Wapello, September 7 - William Carl was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, December 22, 1832, and died at his home near Elrick, Iowa, September 6, 1898, of hemorrhage of the lungs. He emigrated to Iowa in 1848, and for the past 45 years has lived continuously on his farm, where he died. He was buried at the Smith cemetery, near which he had spent so many years of his life.
