John Keck was born in Brunsee, Bavaria, Germany, March 10, 1826 and died at Wapello, Iowa, January 10 1898, aged 71 years and ten months. The funeral occurred from the German M. E. church January 11, 1898, conducted by Rev. Zimmerman, assisted by Rev. T. N. Buchanan, Mr. Keck was a long time citizen and pioneer business man of Wapello. He left a wife, daughter and four sons, together with a large number of friends to mourn his demise.
