Ida B. Plummer, 90, of Mount Pleasant, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Jan. 28, 1909, near Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Addison C. and C. Caroline Baker Newman. On July 11, 1925, she married William M. Plummer in Mount Pleasant. He died May 21, 1968.
Mrs. Plummer worked at the New London Glove Factory. She also worked at Holland Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant and was a psychiatric aide at the Mental Health Institute in Mount Pleasant for 10 years.
She attended New London High School. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and attended Bible Missionary Church in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include three daughters, Bertha Schadt of Mount Pleasant, Charlotte Allen of Marion and Phyllis Parker of Hillsboro; four sons, William C. Plummer of Newburg, Ind., Leo Plummer and Halvor W. Plummer, both of Burlington, and Marvin W. Plummer of Madisonville, Ky.; 24 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Hinkle of Springfield, Ore.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two sons, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one brother and six sisters.
Visitation will begin at noon Monday in Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Plummer will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Henry County Ambulance Service.
