Ed Jackson, oldest son of James Jackson, who now lives in Kansas City, Missouri, but formerly of ? township, was shot Friday night and died Sunday. We know ? the particulars. According to a statement by a Mr. Barber, who was present at the shooting, the murder is a mystery. Barber says that Jackson had just left a baker's in company with himself and two other friends and had stopped with them for a little talk before separating, when a stranger stepped up, thrust a revolver in his face and fired. Mr. Jackson fell to the walk, when the murderer turned to the others and warned them of the same fate if they followed him at the same time backing off and making his escape. Young Jackson lingered until Sunday when he died. He was 27 years old. Two years ago he was married to a daughter of C. C. VanDyke of Fredonia. His father, mother, sister and brother, all the family now left, came back to attend the funeral, which occurred yesterday. Services were conducted by Rev. Bevan, of Letts, burial in the Fredonia cemetery.
