Grandview, December 11- John Hunter was born in Columbia county, Pennsylvania, October 17, 1817, and died at his home in Grandview December 19, 1897, aged 80 years, two months and two days. His parents were natives of Pennsylvania. In 1859 he removed to Louis county, Iowa, which has been his home ever since. He served three years as a volunteer soldier of company C, of the 5th Iowa Infantry. He has been a member of the Methodist church for many years and the funeral services were held in that church Monday at 1:30 conducted by Rev. Bevan of Letts after which the remains were laid to rest in the Grandview cemetery. The pallbearers were A. Hidlebaugh, J. J. Stingle, J. Frazer, T. B. Christie, Fred Gall and A. H. Young.
