Funeral services for Mrs. Retta Oakley Patten, who died Monday at Marmath, N.D., after an illness of three months will be held Thursday at 2:30 at the Yocom chapel. The Rev. John M. Walters, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
Mrs. Patten was born in Mount Vernon Nov. 9, 1867, and came to Marion when she was a child. She was married here to D.E. Patten July 10, 1883. For the last 25 years she has made her home with her son, H.D. Patten and her daughter, Mrs. W.E. McFarland. Mrs. Patten was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She is survived by her two children; four granddaughters; three brothers, Harry and George Oakley of Marion and Walter of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Gabe Smith, Elmyra, N.Y.
