Anita A. Theisen, daughter of Arthur and Marie (Seegebarth) Luedtke was born on March 28, 1929 in rural Lotts Creek, Iowa. Anita was baptized on April 28, 1929 and confirmed on April 18, 1943, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek. Anita passed away on December 25, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Bancroft at the age of 91 years.

Private family services were held. A celebration of Anita's life will be held at a later date.

Anita attended Lotts Creek Lutheran Parochial Grade School and graduated from Algona High School in 1947. She attended Chillicothe, Missouri Business College, graduating in 1948. She returned to Iowa after college and worked for the Kossuth County Clerk of Court Office.

Anita was united in marriage to Melvin Theisen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek on September 7, 1952. The family moved to Fenton Iowa in 1959. After her children were in school, she returned to the workforce, first at the Fenton Telephone Company, followed by IMT (Kossuth Mutual) Insurance, and then back to the Kossuth County Clerk of Court Office where she served as Deputy Clerk of Court for 26 years, retiring in 1994. She also served as Fenton City Clerk for 10 years.

Anita was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fenton, where she taught Sunday school, and is still remembered for her service by many of her former students.

Anita loved to play cards, and her daughter and granddaughters were frequently the blessed beneficiaries of her shopping expeditions. She took pride in her tidy home which she decorated for the seasons with care; and could often be seen working in her yard. She enjoyed nature and the stars. The family camped when her children were young, taking hikes while mom (and dad) identified the local species and varieties as they traveled along the paths. Oftentimes nights were spent around the campfire picking out the stars, planets, and constellations.

Anita was a private woman of contrasts, slow of speech but highly intelligent, reserved but opinionated, strong-willed but faithful. She was passionate about the law and politics. She loved her husband and family deeply. When you stopped in to visit, it would not be uncommon to find her reading her bible.

She is survived by her children Marcia (Alan) Miller of Fenton, and Craig (Sally) Theisen of Granger. Anita is fondly remembered by her grandchildren Michelle (Derek) Bredow of Urbandale, IA, Heather (Roy) Green of Saint George, UT, Ashley (Kai) Carlson of Johnston, IA, Brandon Theisen of Farmington Hills, MI, and Travis Theisen of Granger, IA; great-grandchildren Alana Bredlow, Haddie Bredlow, Camden Carlson, and Remy Green; and sister-in-law Cher Theisen; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin “Punk” Theisen, parents, mother and father-in-law, Pete and Carrie Theisen; infant daughter Sharon Theisen; siblings, Edwin (Caroline) Luedtke, Verona (Robert) Schmidt, Harold (Martha) Luedtke, Viola (Harold) Marlow, and Rose Marie (Leon) Larson.

Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Fenton, Iowa.
