I am curious about a photographer who once settled in Anamosa and had a studio there. The picture of his house and studio is shown here on the Jones County GenWeb site under houses of Anamosa. He is erroniously listed in the online marriage record as Davie Ellis married February 6, 1895 in Anamosa to Bertha L. Peck. They are listed in the 1895 census and 1900. He had moved on to Franklin, Jackson Co., KS by 1910 and widowed. His son Howard L. Ellis is with him. Both show up in 1920 at Alva, Woods Co., OK and son Howard Luther Ellis is seen at the Alva cemetery died April 27, 1946 but Danie is not seen? Danie must have remarried in Kansas and widowed again by 1920 as there is another child named Eugene age 14 who was born in Kansas.
The marriage of Daniel and Bertha lists his parents as David Ellis and Ury Hollingsworth. How do they, if they do, link to the Benjamin Ellis who has the Ellis clan that stayed in the Anamosa area?
