This is what I found for you.
On September 13, 1913, Letta Kendall gave birth to an illegitimate son, Lyle. Two weeks later, on September 28, 1913, Letta Kendall and William Gordon married. A criminal case against William Gordon due to Letta's pregnancy was dismissed the next week since the couple married. Two and one-half months later, on December 19, 1913, baby Lyle died in Anamosa. The cause of death was premature birth, acute gastritis with general malnutrition. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. William and Letta Gordon were divorced on March 9, 1916 in Jones County District Court.
Hope this helps.
