There were several small newspapers printed during that time but most out of circulation now and none will have obits dating that far back online. Most newspapers only archive obits online anywhere from several days to a year or two but seldom any longer. It would be wonderful if all obits were archived online but the cost of doing so would be prohibitive. (wishful thinking)

Your best bet would be to contact the Jones County Genealogical Society and see what was published for those years then either get an interlibrary loan between libraries or have one of the Jones County researchers look up what you seek by name and date on the microfilms or death indexes.
