Take it with a grain of salt but have come across one database at WorldConnect that shows Valentine, born 1827/28 in Prussia died July 20, 1890 in Edgewood, Delaware Co., IA. Married to a Mary Beck, born 1831/32 in Prussia and died October 27, 1903 in Alton, Madison Co., IL. It also shows 10 children with the eldest born 1851 in New York and the youngest born c.1873 at Honey Creek, Delaware Co., IA as the other nine. This was posted by Phyllis Peterson.

Children listed: Mary Katherine (1851 who married Lang); Edward (1854, died 1860 and at Edgewood); Sophia Charlotte (?); Valentine (c.1859); Helena (?); John (c.1864 died 1918 married Sarah Wilson); Albert (c.1869 - shows married 1901 in IL); Fylena "Lena" (c.1871); Riley (?); Henry R. (c.1873).

Since Albert was married in IL possibly he took in their mother and she died there but the body brought back to Iowa for burial? Or Harriet is another wife?

Just some info and ideas thrown on the table.
