Funeral services for Donald H. Miner, 79, Mechanicsville and formerly of Anamosa, were held July 5, 1995 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa, with the Rev. Billy Duay officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Smothers, Steven Kirkpatrick, Vic Benischek, Jim Mente, Wayne Novak and Joe Hinz. Burial was in the Norwich cemetery, Martelle.

Mr. Miner died July 1 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness.

The son of Cordice and Blanche Geirhart Miner, he was born Sept. 9, 1915 in Anamosa. He attended school in Jones county. He married Fern Allen July 3, 1939 in Martelle.

The couple farmed in Cedar, Jones and Linn counties. He farmed for over 40 years, retiring in 1979.

Mr. Miner is survived by his wife; a daughter, Arlene Weiland, Stanwood; a brother, Carl Miner, Anamosa; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Sandi Miner, Northwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Allen in 1991; and a brother, Harold.
