Funeral services for Agnes R. Petersen, 84, Tipton and formerly of Oxford Junction, were held Jan. 31, 1995 at the United Methodist church in Oxford Junction, with the Rev. Shelly Nordine officiating. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery, Oxford Junction.

Mrs. Petersen died Jan.27 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids.

The daughter of James F. and Mary Benhart Nowachek, she was born March 1, 1910 near Oxford Junction. She attended country school and Oxford Junction high school for 2 years. She married Hans H. Petersen Oct. 18, 1933 in Cedar Rapids.

The couple farmed north of Oxford Junction until Hans Petersen died in April 1983. She continued to live on the farm until her health began to fail and she moved to Cedar Manor in Tipton in December 1992.

Mrs. Petersen was a member of the United Methodist church in Oxford Junction, the Bridge Club, Homemaker's Club and Pinochle Club.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Lillian (Mrs. Stanley) Eichhorn, Tipton and Mrs. Louise Hall, Urbandale; a nephew and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.
