Funeral services for Nathan M. Wailand, 3, Oxford Junction, were held July 14, 1993. Pallbearers were Randy Wailand and Steven, Jonathan and Matthew Wailand. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Nathan Wailand died July 10 near Chelsea, in a one vehicle accident, which also killed his mother.

The son of Mark Wailand and Renee Vacek, he was born March 1, 1990 in Iowa City. He spent most of his life with his parents in Jones and Iowa counties, with the exception of one year with his grandmother Wailand in Mesa, Ariz.

He is survived by his father of Oxford Junction; grandmother Kathy Wailand, Mesa, Ariz.; an aunt, Darcey Wailand, Mesa, Ariz.; an uncle and aunt, Randy and Vicki Wailand, Tipton; cousins, Steven, Jonathan and Matthew Wailand, Tipton; his maternal grandparents, Gail Merrill, Longmont, Colo. and Kenneth Vacek, Oxford Junction; his maternal great-grandparents, Thane Jr. and Jaunita Merrill, Wyoming and a great-great-grandfather, Thane Merrill Sr., Wyoming.
