Donna Mae Minear, 83, of Grinnell, IA passed away on November 13, 2023 at Windsor Manor Memory Care unit.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:30 am at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Memorials may be designated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America mailed in c/o of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Donna was born on February 22, 1940 in Olin, IA to Donald and Mary Woods. She was one of six siblings. Donna grew up in Olin, and graduated with the class of 1958. After attending business school, Donna faithfully worked at GTE for many years.

On July, 7 1977 Donna was united in marriage to Jerry Minear in Brooklyn, IA. The couple spent many great years together, including cross country trips on their motorcycle, enjoying country music and movie nights

Donna loved tending to her flower garden, decorating, shopping, homemaking and taking care of her children and their friends.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jerry Minear; their children, Jeffrey (Tami) Babcook of Marietta, GA, Carrie (Lani) Leichty of Lakeville, MN, Michael (Janet) Minear of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer Jacoby of Franklin, TN, and Gregory Minear of Austria; their grandchildren, Kyle and Calum Babcook, Brandon, Ryan and Jenna Leichty, Carter and Payton Minear, Andrew and Alexander Jacoby, Niklas, Phillip and Maria Trenkler-Minear; numerous great grandchildren; her siblings, Elizabeth (Gene) Pauli, Phyllis (Dale) Kelly, Richard (Patty) Woods, and Brian (Pam) Woods.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, a sister, and a daughter, Lori Reimers.
