WEDDING NUPTIALS

The Marriage of Miss Mina E. Jacketts
To Mr. Wm. H. Davis

On Wednesday, July 18, at 8 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, Miss Mina R. Jacketts was married to Mr. Wm. H. Davis, the Rev. Felix H. Plekworth, rector of St. Mark’s Church, officiating.

No one would have known last evening that the home of Mr. W. O. Jacketts was the scene of unusual excitement, yet so it was. Very quietly and very pleasantly two young people, tired of testing longer the adage “distances makes the heart grow fonder if they were less distant, pledged each to the other to take life’s journey together.

The contracting parties were W. H. Davis and Mina R. Jacketts. The mere, mention of the bride’s name is sufficient to call forth hearty congratulations from an innumerable host of friends and associates among whom she had grown up. Her partner, Mr. Davis, is the son of Mr. John M. Davis, of Lime Springs, and holds a good position with the Inter State Grain Co., Minneapolis, Minn.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis left on an early train this morning and expect to make their home at Devon, Chickasaw County, Iowa.

Mr. Davis was postal clerk at the prison under Wardens Madden and Hunter and enlisted in Co. K. 19th Iowa, at the breaking out of the Cuban troubles. He was in the battle of San Juan Hill and other engagements and came home with his regiment. As above stated he is now in the grain business. The Eureka joins many other friends in extending heartiest congratulations to the worthy couple and they will be followed by best wishes of all.
