Clinton, Iowa, January 20, 1900A collison on the Midland, near Amber, Wednesday, between the passenger and the freight, did considerable injury to men and trains. Engineer Lea had a shoulder dislocated and bruises; Conductor Sherman and Brakeman Harding, severe hurts; Expressman Hoskinson a collar bone broken; and Engineer Shoemaker, riding as a passenger to Anamosa had his back injured. Cause – trains couldn’t pass on a single track.
