Judy Davenport, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the University of Iowa Downtown Medical Center in Iowa City.

Judy was born in August of 1941 to Dale and Dorline Allbee and grew up in West Union, Iowa.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and was employed as a medical technologist at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, where she remained employed until her retirement.

In January of 1967, she married Ray Davenport and together over the years, they raised three wonderful children: Michael, Michelle and Marc, along with numerous family pets.

Judy loved spending time with her pets and family, trekking outdoors, watching birds, listening to music - especially classical, sewing and cooking for her family. She was quite an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up to date with her soap opera, General Hospital. She relished getting together with her lifelong friends. She was truly a gift to both her family and friends. While she will be greatly missed in this life, her light will forever shine on in the twinkling stars and grace the hearts of all who loved her.

Judy is survived directly by her three children, Michael, Michelle and Marc; one grandson, Corey; one brother, Alan (Kristi) and two beloved cats, Mystery and Scout. She is also survived by four stepdaughters, Rayma, Donna Marie, Harriette, and Heather; five grandchildren, Jamey, Cody, Hawkeye, Austin and Andrea; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray and her parents, Dale and Dorline.
