Ronald Leon Boone, 76, of Cedar Rapids passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 31, 2025.
Ronn was born June 13th, 1949, to Louie and Virginia Boone in LaHarpe, Illinois.
Quaker Oats brought the family to Cedar Rapids, Ronn worked for Quaker Oats for many years and couldn’t retire fast enough. Ronn was known for his infectious laugh; his family called it his “cackle”. Ronn had a heart of gold and would do anything for his family. When his brother Steve passed, he selflessly filled his shoes and became “Dad” to his Nieces Leslie and Ashley. He had many great and great-great nieces and nephews, several whom referred to him as “Papa” and he was proud of each and every one of them.Ronn is survived by his sister, Sheryl Elson (Scott) and Dear Friend & Sister-in-Law Laurie Boone. Nieces & Nephew, Leslie Fisher (Brian), Amanda Minor, Eric Minor (Wendy), Ashley Robertson (Bryan), and Brittany Nicklas (David/Hillbilly). Great Nieces and Nephews, Alec Boone, Raquel Fisher (Dylan), Brynden Fisher, Ethan Minor, Skylar Galloway, Mason Bahls, Lacey Durgin, Ben Minor, Julian Scott, Adelyn Robertson, Emersyn Bahls, “Roni”Lyn Minor, MacKenzie Minor-Welbes, Brylea Robertson, Avery Robertson & Gaberial Minor-Ohlhauser. Great-Great Niece and Nephews, Paden “Ronald” Boone, Eliza Jane Boone, Oaklyn Erlacher & Odyn “Leon” Erlacher, a host of cousins and his close Quaker friends, Ann Jenkins & Terry Usher.
He is preceded in death by both parents, brother Steve, many aunts, uncles & cousins, niece Lainey & best friend Pauline.
