Obituary of George Olney

Mr. George Olney was born in Johnson County, Iowa, January 1st, 1855, and passed away at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. James Walters, Sunday, Oct. 9th, 1927, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Mr. Olney spent all his life, with the exception of 13 years in Oklahoma, in this vicinity.

Short funeral services were held at the Hevern Chapel preceding the funeral services held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church, with interment in the Oxford Cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife whose maiden name was Lydia Walters, three brothers, William, Frank and James Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Mary Breese of Newton, Iowa and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Alice Herdliska of Iowa City.
