Keith Gerard Klein passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children after a short illness.
To celebrate Keith's life his family will greet friends Wednesday, March 27th from 4 to 7 PM at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City.

Keith was born September 27, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Cletus Klein and Jeanne (O’Brien) Seaton. He married Kandi Kennedy on June 11th, 1988, and they together raised a son and daughter.
Keith was a lifelong resident of Johnson County though he and Kandi recently moved to Washington County. He worked for different departments within the City of Iowa City and had just retired at end of December 2023 from the streets and maintenance department after nearly 37 years. Keith took great pride in his family. He loved to be outdoors mowing, camping, kayaking, biking or just playing with his grandchildren. He helped his dad on the farm for several years and would drop anything he was doing to help others. He will be remembered for his smile and quick witty responses not to mention his love of visiting with people.
Keith is survived by his wife Kandi Klein of Riverside; son Chad Klein of Williamsburg, daughter Kristin (Collin) Birch of Riverside; grandchildren Harper Klein of Williamsburg, and Easton and Courtlyn Birch of Riverside; his mother, Jeanne Seaton; siblings Kevin (Mary) Klein of Colorado, Sheila Klein of Iowa City, Tony Klein of Iowa City, Joyce (Michael) Kinny of Virginia, Dave (Melody) Dvorak of Springville; brother-in-law Scott (Sharon) Kennedy of Riverside; sister-in-law Kristene Chalupa of Iowa City; and numerous extended family.
Keith is proceeded in death by his father Cletus Francis Klein; step mother Marcella Klein; brother Gary Francis Klein; step sister LuAnn Dvorak; mother-in-law Joan Kennedy; grandson Lane Michael Birch; and nephew Brandon Dvorak.
