OBITUARY.

Mrs. Lucretia A. Sherman was born in Delaware county, Ohio, Dec. 14, 1846. She united with the church when quite young, and was married to Jas. Sherman Oct. 26th, 1865. They came west in the fall of 1867 and settled in Johnson county, where she lived until her death, and nearly all of the time in Madison township. A few weeks ago, Mrs. Sherman came down to the Bend to visit her sister, Mrs. D. H. Abbott, and other friends, and also try and recruit her failing health. A few days after coming down she went to Mrs. Gilletts to stay a day or two, and while there she was taken worse. Her family and the Doctor were sent for, but she continued to grow worse, and after lingering about twenty-four hours she died, August 3rd, 1884[sic]. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn the loss of a loving wife and a kind mother. D.H.A.
