Sandra J. Seibert, 87, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, bid farewell to this world on January 1, 2024. Born on March 23, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, Sandy was a force to be reckoned with, capturing hearts with her infectious charm and caring nature. She was also the ultimate Iowa fan, cheering on her beloved Hawkeyes with unmatched passion.

She is survived by her nephews Scott Seibert (Nellica) of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Steven (Kim) of Brooklyn Park, MN, along with her great nieces and nephew, Clara, Lydia, Sophia, and Noah. Sandy's family meant the world to her.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Cecilia, her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marty Seibert, and her niece, Beth Seibert, in Heaven.

Sandy's journey through education led her to the University of Iowa, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, and then to St. Mary's of Notre Dame where she earned her Nursing Degree. She started her career as a registered nurse and nursing educator in Boston and Chicago, but her heart led her to a career with the American Heart Association in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where she served proudly in many positions and retired as an Executive after 30 years.

While Sandy's Catholic faith was an integral part of her life, she also knew how to have a good time. She was an active member of the Rotary Club, St. Patrick’s Parish, Basilica of St. Mary, and enjoyed hitting the greens for a round of golf. Sandy could out-cheer anyone when it came to Iowa Hawkeye Football. Talk about a winning spirit!

A celebration of Sandy's life will be at 10:30am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Waterloo, IA, with her final resting place at Mt Olivet Cemetery. In honor of her memory, contributions can be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City, IA or St. Edward's Church in Waterloo, IA.

The Family would like to sincerely thank Erin Droll from Heartland Fiduciary Services, and all of those who cared for her at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.

Sandy's departure leaves a void in the lives of her loved ones and the communities she touched. But her caring nature, dedication, and playful spirit will forever be cherished and remembered. As she embarks on her next grand adventure, we raise a toast to Sandy and all the joy she brought into our lives.
