She was a homemaker whose house was always immaculately kept and was open to all. She was also a bookkeeper for The Knitting Shop, Wilson Sporting Goods, and Hellwig Electric in Iowa City. But her true calling was as a wife, mother and grandmother. Betty enjoyed going to her boys’ and grandkids’ sporting and music events. Go Little Hawks! She was affectionately given the nickname “Mama Jo” by the many friends of her sons that spent time at her house. She loved traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains, the beaches of North Carolina and National Parks. She also enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffett, Dolly Parton, Elvis and a host of other great artists.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to Iowa City Hospice.
