Marie M. Schenk, age 84 of rural Iowa City died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the Parkview Manor Care Center in Wellman.
No funeral services are planned. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Marie’s family and her arrangements.
Marie Margaret Wolf Shenk was born December 27, 1919, near McIntosh, Minnesota the daughter of George and Margaret (Gilbert) Wolf. She married Stanley Schenk in April of 1957, in Marengo, Iowa. The couple has farmed in rural Johnson County for many years where Marie always had a garden and flowers. She and her husband never had children, but those that knew Marie knew her love of animals was like the love a mother has for her children.
Her family includes her husband, Stanley; and a brother, George Wolf of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Wolf, and a sister, Loretta Wolf Curry.
