James R. Wallace, 92, of 2435 Walden Ct. died Saturday, April 17, 2004 in Ft. Myers, Florida following a brief illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service. A luncheon at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will follow the Funeral Mass. A memorial fund has been established.

Jim was born June 17, 1911 in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of James and Mary E. Corrigan
Wallace. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and attended the University of Iowa. Jim married Alice Scott on January 3, 1936. She died in 1984. On September 2, 1985 he married Olive Bright in Iowa City.

Jim owned and operated Georges Buffet for twenty six years. He has been an insurance agent for many years and had operated a water softening business. He enjoyed family and friends and had a gift for making people feel comfortable. Jim loved humor and had a dry wit.

Jim is survived by his wife, Olive of Iowa City; his son-in-law Jon Grandrath of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; four granddaughters, Debbie (Jim) Martucci of Davidson, North Carolina, Amy (Tom) Lang of Tehachapi, California, Shari (Rick) Osti of Arlington, Washington, Lora (Matt) Ries of Alexandria, Virginia; Five Great Grandchildren; two step- sons, Stanley See (Vicki) of Cedar Rapids and Charles Bright (Sue) of Washington, Missouri; three step grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie; one brother Bob; two sisters, Mary Wallace and Florence Cilek Greene.
